Dearest you, you have your very own unique Juuniek line portrait in your hands!
This line portrait is a tangible chapter of your unique story, to be cherished forever. We want to help you give it a beautiful and worthy place in your home. Because we use a laser to engrave extremely fine lines into the wood, your portrait is a refined and living work of art.
Watch the video and read the instructions below to give your portrait the best start.
Step 1: Preparation
- Acclimatization (Important!): After receiving the portrait, leave it in the room where it will be hung for at least 24 hours. This allows the wood to slowly adapt to the temperature and humidity in your home. This not only prevents the delicate laser lines from 'working' or cracking, but it is also essential for mounting. If the wood is too cold when you hang it, condensation can form under the tape, causing it to lose its adhesive strength and potentially detach the portrait.
- Prepare the surface: First, ensure the wall or surface where the portrait will be hung is completely dust and grease-free. Use a dry cloth or a mild, non-damaging cleaning agent. A clean surface is essential for good tape adhesion.
Step 2: Choose the right location
Wood is a living material and reacts to its environment. It is a natural product that thrives in a stable climate. In winter, when the heating is on more often, the air in the house is drier.
To enjoy the refined details for years to come, we therefore recommend the following:
- Choose a stable location: The living room, hallway, or bedroom are ideal.
- Avoid the radiator: It is best not to hang the portrait directly above a heater, fireplace, or air conditioner. The dry, rising air can cause tension on the laser lines.
- Avoid direct sunlight
- Indoor use only: Your portrait will not feel comfortable outdoors or in humid areas such as the bathroom.
Step 3: Time to hang out
Option 1: Found a permanent spot?
Use the double-sided tape on the back.
- Remove the protective layer from the tape.
- Please note: The tape is very strong. Make sure you are certain of your spot and that the portrait hangs straight before pressing it. It is therefore best to do this with two people.
- Press the portrait firmly against the wall for perfect adhesion.
Option 2: Still unsure?
- Use a small nail to hang the portrait.
- Place the portrait on a nice wall shelf or dresser (beware of curious children's hands!).
Step 4: Cherish your moment
Enjoy your unique story on the wall every day. ๐ค
