Which model or size should I choose?
Choosing the right size depends on the place you have in mind and the story you want to tell. Here is our selection guide:
Cabinet Models (on stand)
These portraits come with a subtle wooden base. They are perfect for those who like to move them around, or for those who want to keep the memory close in a place you often pass by.
- Extra Small (16x14 cm): An intimate size. Ideal for a small cabinet, a desk or as a subtle detail in a memory corner.
- Small (22x20 cm): Our most chosen cabinet model. A beautiful eye-catcher on a dresser, a wall shelf or stylishly placed in an open cabinet.
Wall Models
Do you want your story to really get the attention it deserves? Our wall models are mounted without drilling and form an artistic statement in your interior.
- Medium (33 cm): A refined size, perfect for the smallest room or a narrow piece of wall that could use some warmth.
- Large (max. 66x44 cm): the most chosen size. We almost always recommend this size for the living room or above the dining table. It is the perfect balance between detail and presence, where faces and postures are beautifully highlighted.
- Extra Large (max. 100x70 cm) & XXL (max. 120x80 cm): For those who want a true statement piece. Do you want to portray a larger group/family or do you have a very spacious wall? Then these sizes ensure that every detail gets the space it deserves.
- Tip: These sizes look best when hung horizontally (width) above the sofa, or vertically (length) as a powerful welcome in a large entrance hall.

Wat kost een lijnportret?
De prijs hangt af van het formaat en het aantal personen. Onze kastmodellen (op staander) starten vanaf €64,95 en de wandmodellen vanaf €124,95 (maat medium). Grotere formaten en meer personen lopen van daaruit op. Het exacte tarief zie je meteen bij het kiezen van je model en aantal personen.

Hoe maken jullie het ontwerp?
Op basis van je gekozen foto('s) maken wij een uniek lijnontwerp: jouw beeld herleid tot één verfijnde, doorlopende lijn. Wij kijken elk ontwerp na en onze designer verfijnt het waar nodig — de herkenbare houding, de gezichten en de kleine details die het écht jullie maken. Pas als jij 100% tevreden bent met de digitale preview, snijden we je portret met de laser uit hout in ons eigen Belgische atelier.
Werkt de design tool met AI?
Onze design tool doet het voorbereidende werk: je uploadt je foto en slimme technologie (waaronder AI) herleidt je beeld meteen naar een eerste lijntekening. Zo zie je op enkele seconden hoe je portret eruit kan zien — in licht of zwart hout, en in een interieur.
Maar daar stopt het niet. Elk ontwerp wordt door ons nagekeken voordat het in productie gaat. Wil je toch nog wijzigingen doorvoeren? Dat past onze designer manueel voor je aan. En jij hebt altijd het laatste woord: pas als jij de digitale preview goedkeurt, snijden we je portret uit hout. Zo krijg je het beste van twee werelden — de snelheid van de tool én het oog van een mens.
Will I see an example?
Yes, you will always receive a digital preview by email first. You can then calmly provide feedback on details — such as that stubborn lock of hair or a specific pose — until it feels just right to you. Only when you are 100% satisfied will we start production. You will be amazed by the likeness!

Can I still change the photo?
Changes to the current design are always possible without limitation. We aim for nothing less than 100% satisfaction!
However, once we have started designing your chosen photo, it is no longer possible to start a completely new design free of charge. This is drawn by hand and therefore already takes up a large part of the process. In that case, we charge an additional cost of 25 euros.

What material is it made of?
Each portrait is lovingly crafted in our own Belgian workshop from 3.6mm multiplex eucalyptus hardwood. This material is not only beautifully pure but also environmentally friendly and recyclable. We hand-sand each artwork for a high-quality, silky-smooth finish. For your convenience, the wall models are pre-fitted with strong double-sided tape on the back, so you can immediately give your portrait a beautiful spot without drilling.
Are there different colors available?
Our portraits are delivered standard in their natural, light wood color with visible grain. This timeless base fits beautifully in any interior and subtly highlights the details of the wood.
Would you prefer to give the portrait a specific color that perfectly matches your interior? No problem! You can easily paint the wood yourself. Because we hand-sand each portrait smooth, it's ready for your personal touch right away (suitable for both water- and oil-based paints).
How do I hang the wall-mounted model, and is it still movable?
Our wall models are fitted with professional double-sided tape on the back. This tape is wafer-thin but has a very strong adhesive power, ensuring your portrait hangs securely against the wall without drilling.
Is it repositionable without damage?
Yes, but do this very carefully. Because the tape is very strong, we advise you to first heat the tape thoroughly with a hairdryer. The heat loosens the adhesive bond, allowing you to carefully remove the portrait from the wall without damaging the paint or fine woodwork. Never simply pull on the portrait if the adhesive is still cold.
Tip: Do you like to change your interior often? The portrait is so light that a small, subtle nail is also sufficient. This way, you can move it endlessly without having to use the tape.
Where in the house can I best hang the portrait?
Thanks to the use of high-quality biodegradable wood (bioplex with a eucalyptus layer), our portraits are durable and pure. Because we use a laser to cut fine lines into the top layer, each portrait is a unique and detailed work of art. Nevertheless, wood remains a natural product that can 'work' under the influence of humidity and temperature.
- The ideal place: A dry room with a stable temperature, such as the living room, entrance hall, bedroom, or children's room.
What you should definitely avoid:
- Not for outdoors: Our portraits are exclusively intended for indoor use. The wood is not treated against weather influences such as rain, frost, or high outdoor humidity.
- Heat sources: Preferably do not hang the portrait directly above an active heat source (radiator or fireplace). The rising dry air can cause tension in the delicate laser lines, which can lead to hairline cracks in the top layer.
- Humid rooms: Do not hang the artwork in rooms with high humidity, such as the bathroom.
- Direct sunlight: Avoid direct, bright sunlight to prevent natural discolouration of the wood.
How do I submit my photo(s)?
You can easily upload your photos (maximum 3) directly when placing your order. This way, we have all the information we need to get started for you.
Do you have specific wishes? Please provide clear instructions when uploading. For example, do you want to combine certain people from different photos, or do you want us to include or exclude a specific detail (such as glasses or a piece of jewelry)? The more information you provide us, the faster we can create your perfect design!
Should anything be unclear after your order? You can always email us at info@juuniek.be, stating your order number.
Please note: Once we have started drawing, you can have details refined an unlimited number of times based on the chosen photo. Switching to a completely new base photo after starting is only possible at an additional cost.
How soon will I receive my order?
Since we create each line drawing by hand and optimize our production, the average delivery time is 2 weeks after design approval. Once your unique package leaves our studio, you will receive an email with a Track & Trace code.
Word ik op de hoogte gehouden van mijn bestelling?
Zeker — je hoort op verschillende momenten van ons, zodat je nooit in het ongewisse zit. Dit mag je zoal in je mailbox verwachten:
- Bevestiging van je bestelling — meteen nadat je besteld hebt.
- Vraag naar extra info — kort na je bestelling krijg je een mail waarin je nog extra foto's of feedback kunt meegeven.
- Je ontwerp ter goedkeuring — zodra je digitale preview klaar is, sturen we die door. Je keurt goed of geeft feedback; pas je nog iets aan, dan volgt telkens een nieuwe versie tot het helemaal juist zit.
- Onderweg — zodra je portret ons atelier verlaat, ontvang je een mail met Track & Trace code om je pakket te volgen.

We ship all our packages safely and quickly via PostNL or DPD. Good to know: every shipment is automatically insured. Although damage or loss rarely occurs, you don't have to worry about it; we'll take care of it for you.

- Please note: The XXL size is only available for pickup in Nieuwerkerken (Belgium).
Krijg ik een gratis print bij mijn portret?
Tijdelijk wel! Bij een wandmodel vanaf maat medium krijg je een gratis geprinte versie van jouw lijntekening op A4-formaat (t.w.v. €39,95). Bestel je via onze design tool, dan wordt de kortingscode automatisch voor je ingevuld bij het afrekenen zodra je de checkbox aanvinkt — je hoeft verder niets te doen. Kader niet inbegrepen.
Bestel je op een andere manier? Schrijf je dan in voor onze nieuwsbrief; je ontvangt meteen je persoonlijke code die je bij het afrekenen invult in het vak voor kortingscodes. De volledige uitleg vind je op de actiepagina.
Kan ik mijn bestelling annuleren of retourneren?
Omdat elk portret speciaal voor jou op maat wordt gemaakt, geldt het wettelijke herroepingsrecht niet zodra de productie is gestart — gepersonaliseerde producten kunnen we niet terugnemen of ruilen.
Merk je vlak na je bestelling dat er iets misging (verkeerde foto, een typfout in een naam)? Laat het ons dan zo snel mogelijk weten via info@juuniek.be, dan kijken we samen wat nog mogelijk is voordat we starten.
