How it started

It all started with my son, Juul. As every parent knows: time passes mercilessly fast. My phone was (and still is) full of hundreds of photos: that very first smile, a warm hug with grandpa, or those moments with my best friends. Beautiful memories, but they often remained hidden in a digital folder.

I didn't just want to be able to view those memories, I wanted to be able to hold them. From that personal need, Juuniek was born — a contraction of 'Juul' and 'unique'. 🥰 Because every moment we cherish deserves a unique place in our home.

What started as a passion at the kitchen table grew into something much bigger. I noticed that you discovered Juuniek not only for yourselves, but primarily as THE gesture for the people you love.

Today, more than 90% of our portraits are gifts. That's a responsibility we at Juuniek take very seriously. Whether you're looking for a gift for proud grandparents and their grandchildren, want to surprise a new mom with her first family photo, or are seeking a comforting anchor point for a great loss: we ensure the portrait resonates. 🫶🏻

At Juuniek, we transform your most cherished photos into wooden line portraits. Not mass-produced, but purely custom-made. Each line is carefully drawn digitally and then precisely laser-cut from wood in our own studio. The result is a minimalist work of art that makes love visible and keeps memories alive.

At Juuniek, we believe in the power of connection. That's why we work closely with the students of BuSO KIDS in Hasselt. Here, young people with autism are given the opportunity to develop their unique talents in a protected environment.

From waste wood to valuable gift
These young makers are responsible for the extras in your package. From our waste wood, they patiently craft the wooden bookmarks and smartphone holders. They carefully sand the wood, attach the rings, and meticulously package everything.
